Head to head

LG C6 vs LG G6

LG's two best 2026 OLEDs compared: the C6 for value and the G6 for brightness and gallery design. What the extra money buys, and who should pay it.

By The WhichTVShouldIBuy editorsUpdated

The C6 and G6 share LG's OLED fundamentals — perfect blacks, Dolby Vision, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and webOS — so this comes down to how much brightness and design are worth to you. The G6 uses LG's Brightness Booster Ultra panel tech to be the brightest OLED LG sells, in a flush gallery design meant for the wall. The C6 costs far less.

Option A

Choose the LG C6 if…

  • You watch mostly in the evening or in a room you can darken, where the G6's extra brightness matters least.
  • You want the same Dolby Vision, gaming features, and webOS for less than half the price at 65 inches.
  • You need a smaller screen: the C6 comes in 42 and 48 inches, while the G6 starts at 55.
  • The TV will sit on a stand or console rather than hang on the wall.

Option B

Choose the LG G6 if…

  • Your room gets daylight and you want the brightest OLED LG makes without switching to mini-LED.
  • The TV is going on the wall and you want a flush, picture-frame look.
  • You want a 97-inch OLED, a size the C6 doesn't come in.
  • Getting LG's best picture matters more than the price.

Our verdict

Editor's pick

LG C6 OLED

The C6 is the better buy for most people: the same perfect blacks, Dolby Vision, and four-port gaming setup for about $1,900 less at 65 inches in our research. The G6 earns its premium in a brighter room or on a wall where its gallery design shines. If maximum brightness in a sunny room is the goal, also cross-shop Samsung's glare-free S95H or a mini-LED.

Frequently asked questions

Is the LG G6 much brighter than the C6?

It's the brightest OLED LG sells, thanks to its Brightness Booster Ultra panel tech, and the difference shows most in HDR highlights and daytime viewing. In a dark room the gap shrinks a lot, because both have perfect blacks.

Is the G6 worth it over the C6 for gaming?

Not for gaming alone. Both have four HDMI 2.1 ports, high refresh rates, and VRR, so consoles and PCs get the same core features. Pay for the G6's brightness or design, not its ports.

Should I get the LG G6 or the Samsung S95H?

For a very bright room, the S95H's Glare Free screen handles reflections better, and it was a little cheaper in our research (~$3,000 vs ~$3,400 at 65 inches), but it skips Dolby Vision. The G6 keeps Dolby Vision and LG's webOS.

Can the C6 hang flush on the wall like the G6?

You can wall-mount the C6 with a standard VESA mount, and a low-profile fixed mount gets it close to the wall, but it won't sit as flush as the G6, which is designed to hang like a picture. Our wall-mount guide covers sizing.
