Samsung S95H OLED: prices, fit, and what the testing says
RTINGS' best OLED of the year, and Samsung's brightest. Amazon doesn't list it, and its price keeps it off most of our helper's shortlists.
Our take
The short version
The S95H is the strongest picture in our catalog on paper. RTINGS ranks it the best OLED it has tested this year, and it's the only set here with top scores for both a bright and a dark room. It's a QD-OLED with Samsung's matte Glare Free coating, so daylight doesn't wash it out the way it does a glossy OLED.
The catch is the lit-room black level. RTINGS found the S95H's blacks rise considerably in daylight and can take on a purple tint, more than on the cheaper S90H. Bright and colorful, yes. Inky with the blinds open, not quite.
We price it from Samsung.com: $2,499.99 for 65 inches on October 12 and 14, shown as down from $3,399.99. Amazon had no US listing on any check, so our Check price button is an Amazon model search.

Price history
Two checks, one price. Samsung.com held the 65-inch at $2,499.99 on October 12 and 14, the same as the LG G6 at LG.com those days. We didn't check other sizes. Best Buy was the source of our earlier estimate on October 7, but we only recorded an approximate figure there, so it isn't in the table.

The scores, explained
Fit by room and use
By room
- Bright room5/5
- The brightest Samsung OLED plus the Glare Free coating. RTINGS calls it more consistent and better in bright rooms than the LG G6.
- Mixed light5/5
- The only set in the catalog with a perfect blend here: daytime punch from the coating and brightness, OLED contrast after dark.
- Dark room5/5
- QD-OLED blacks with the lights off. The lit-room black rise RTINGS describes disappears when the room is dark.
By use
- Movies & TV5/5
- Wide, bright color from the QD-OLED panel. The gap is Dolby Vision, which Samsung doesn't support, and RTINGS rates the G6 better for disc collectors.
- Sports4/5
- Bright, clean motion for day games. Mini-LEDs like the Bravia 9 II still hold more full-screen brightness, which keeps this a step short.
- Gaming5/5
- Samsung's Ultimate Gaming Pack with 165Hz VRR, and RTINGS puts it first on its best gaming TVs list.
- A bit of everything4.67/5
- No weak use and no weak room. Only the value score keeps it out of more picks.

What Find my TV picks it for
Of the helper's 144 possible answers, the Samsung S95H OLED makes the shortlist in 6, never in first place. With no limit, the S95H makes the list only for bright-room movies and gaming, in third place. It ties the Sony Bravia 9 II exactly in the bright-room movie answer and wins the tiebreak on price: the two share a value score, and its estimate is $1,100 lower. Below No limit it's over every budget.

Instead: LG G6 OLED. The same $2,499.99 at its maker's store, with Dolby Vision and deeper blacks in a lit room, per RTINGS.
You want Dolby Vision for about $1,400
Instead: LG C6 OLED. RTINGS' mid-range OLED pick, with Dolby Vision, at $1,399.99 for 65 inches on October 19. It's glossier and scores two points lower for bright rooms, so keep the blinds in mind.
