LG Sound Suite H7: what the testing says

The Sound Suite H7 is a strong standalone bar that RTINGS rates great for dialogue and very good for music, at $849.99 from Amazon.com on October 26. It has no sub in the box and no HDMI input. LG added DTS:X by software update in October, after RTINGS tested it.

Our take

The short version

LG's 2026 bar starts a new line, the Sound Suite: a 47-inch bar with 12 drivers, four woofers, and eight passive radiators. LG's spec sheet calls it 5.1.3 channels and markets it as a '9.1.6 spatial audio experience'. You can add LG's W7 subwoofer and M7 or M5 speakers, which link up over Dolby Atmos FlexConnect.

RTINGS calls it 'very good for mixed usage', great for dialogue, very good for music, and good for movies. Its woofers 'reproduce a surprising amount of mid- and high-bass', though they 'struggle to produce sub-bass'. RTINGS also notes latency is a bit high and there's no HDMI input, which matters for gamers.

RTINGS lists no DTS as a con, but LG added DTS:X in an October 14, 2026 software update, along with Google Cast and support for two W7 subs. On an LG TV it supports WOW Orchestra. At 47.2 inches it just fits under a 55-inch screen.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • RTINGS: great for dialogue, very good for music
  • Strong bass for a bar with no sub
  • Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify and Tidal Connect
  • Grows with LG's W7 sub and M7 or M5 speakers

Trade-offs

  • No sub in the box; the W7 is $599.99
  • No HDMI input; latency a bit high, per RTINGS
  • DTS:X only arrived by software update, after RTINGS' test
  • Optical isn't listed

Who it's for

Buy it if…

  • LG TV owners who want a bar now and speakers later
  • Anyone who watches a lot of TV and streams music
  • 55-inch and bigger TVs

Skip it if…

  • Movie fans who want rumble now: the Samsung HW-Q800H includes a sub

TVs it fits and syncs with

At 47.2 in (1,199 mm) wide, the Sound Suite H7 fits under a 55-inch screen, whose picture is 47.9 inches wide, and anything bigger. It's wider than the picture on a 48-inch screen or smaller. Our rule: a bar fits when it's no wider than the picture, since every TV is a little wider than its picture and the bar then won't overhang it. Check the gap under the screen too: the bar is 2.5 inches (64 mm) tall.

LG names these features for LG TVs. Any other TV still works with it over HDMI eARC.

  • LG TVs: WOW Orchestra

LG's spec sheet lists WOW Orchestra, which plays the TV's speakers along with the bar, and says its alpha 11 processor features need 'select LG TVs'. LG also says Dolby Atmos FlexConnect with its TVs is coming to its 2026 premium TVs and select 2025 models by software update. LG's page (opens in a new tab)
